My friends, although Granj and I only knew each other by reputation and by a few passing words, I can speak to his honor, which was great. I can speak to his sense of duty, to you and to those around him. His death is beyond tragic, and it calls us all to action. As Hamash says we must act now. As Cavasaideen says, we are strong and we can die gloriously in battle. As Nieve says, we can be strong alone as well as together. But, we cannot hope to accomplish any of these goals unless we are also united. I do not pretend to be as great as Granj. You know me, I hope, from my reputation as one who will stand for those who are weak or frightened. I will defend the defenseless, and I will risk my life and my freedom for the lives and freedom of the wretches and the great among those here. Kalak enslaves us now, but when his Ziggurat is complete he will have little use for those of us who have no other obvious use than that of a beast of burden. He will, I have every confidence, kill us all if we complete his structure. I have a plan, and it is dangerous, and it relies on the ability of every one of you. First, there is one that must be punished for the death of your leader. Granj was betrayed by Crurex, and he needs to experience the same fate as the man he betrayed. The stealthy among you should form a small team to pull the traitor from his bed, and string him up in place of Granj. At first light the guards and templars will see our message, and that is when we strike. We use Nieve’s idea to appear, at this end of this meeting, fractured and weak. There will be no obvious culprit to blame for the death of Crurex, while the guards and templars attempt to formulate a plan to come back down on the heads of those who would resist them, we attack from all angles. Those of you who wish to fight, who want to take up arms against the guards and the Templars who have tortured you for so long, you should follow Cavasaideen, launch a full assault against the guards. Those of you who agree with Hamash, that we should attempt an escape tonight, follow him. Before you attempt that escape, though, you must get as many people to go with you as you can. All of you know someone who wants to get away, talk to them, tonight, and get them to come with you. If you get as many people to help you as possible there is possibility of success. My people and I will spread ourselves throughout each group to heal (nod to Haaku), to fight (look at half-giants), and to organize the assault. My oath to you is that I will not leave until I see all of us dead or safely out of the pens. If that means my death, so be it. If you follow me, if you help me gather as many as we can, we have a chance. If we fail, we die, but at least we fought, at least we stood up, at least we did not just lay down under the lash and do all that those who have tortured us asked us for. At least, in death, we can have dignity, and I believe fighting, trying to escape, is the only chance of survival we have. Are you with me?
